A goal either side of half-time from Javier Hernandez and late strikes by Wayne Rooney and Fabio da Silva settled an entertaining, end-to-end affair at the DW Stadium in Wigan on Saturday.

The victory, only United’s fourth away from home in the league this season, wasn’t as straightforward as the scoreline suggests, but restores the Reds’ four-point lead at the top of the table.

With United next in action on Tuesday evening at Stamford Bridge, Sir Alex’s men have a chance to stretch that lead to seven by the time title rivals Arsenal play again. And that gap could prove psychologically damaging to a Gunners side that haven’t won the league since 2004.

At Wigan on Saturday, Ryan Giggs and Michael Owen had been tipped to return, but neither was involved in the Reds' matchday squad. Sir Alex did make two changes from the side that drew away in Marseille during the week, though, with Paul Scholes replacing Darron Gibson in the centre of midfield and Dimitar Berbatov making way for Hernandez.

The home side started brightest and enjoyed plenty of possession in the opening quarter of an hour. Nemanja Vidic was forced into a fine block tackle on the edge of his area to deny the onrushing Charles N’Zogbia while Hugo Rodallega volleyed over the bar from 12 yards.

The biggest scare came on 13 minutes, when Victor Moses charged down a Paul Scholes pass and ended up clean through on goal with only Edwin van der Sar to beat. The Dutchman, in his 250th United appearance, stayed big to block Moses’ effort with his shoulder and keep the match goalless.

United fans have seen more than most. And for those inside Old Trafford on Saturday, they can now add to the list one of the most spectacular goals ever scored in a Manchester derby.

Michael Owen’s winner in this fixture last season was dramatic, but Wayne Rooney’s overhead kick on 78 minutes was so outrageous, so perfect, that it almost beggared belief. He seemed to hang in the air for an age. And then, when the ball arrived above his head, his body horizontal, Rooney’s right boot sent it hurtling into the top corner.

So much for a boring Manchester derby, eh? In fact, any fears that this game would be a repeat of the drab 0-0 that the teams played out at Eastlands in November disappeared almost immediately as United won a corner within the first minute. And although Sir Alex had loaded his midfield to match City's 4-5-1 formation, Nani and Ryan Giggs consistently pushed onto City’s full-backs when the Reds were in possession.

City, too, played their part in the entertainment. In fact, despite a reputation for being overtly defensive against the big sides, it was Mancini’s men who fashioned the best chances in the opening minutes. With barely three minutes on the clock, Tevez and Silva combined to play the Spaniard in on goal, but his stabbed effort rolled mercifully wide of the far post.

After his moment of genius in the Manchester derby, Wayne Rooney was remarkably matter-of-fact when talking to the TV cameras about his winning goal.

He did concede, however, that the spectacular strike was the best goal he's ever scored.
“Yeah, I think so," he told Sky Sports. "I just tried to get into a good position for when Nani crossed the ball. I saw it come into the box and I thought, ‘Why not?’. So I tried it [an overhead kick] and thankfully it went into the top corner.

“Nine times out of 10 they go over the crossbar or wide, but thankfully today it went into the top corner.

“It’s instinctive. You don’t have time to think about what you’re going to do.
“I scored one [an overhead kick] in school but to be fair, it’s my first one since I started playing professionally. I’m delighted.”

His joy was as much down to the game’s result, though, as it was his own performance.

“After dropping three points, it was important we kept that gap between ourselves and City. It was a close game but I think we created the best chances and deserved to win.

“After last weekend, I think we felt we owed the fans a good performance and three points. That keeps us on top of the league, so we’re thankful for that.”

Hello people, so it was the 1st day of school after the CNY holiday.  :( 

As usual I came school around 7:30 ish. and there were a huge space in the moddle of the tapak perhimpunan. So it could mean only 1 thing. PERSEMBAHAN !!!  -.-  it was for Bulan Membace & Minggu Bahasa.  We sang the new Wilayah song. hahaha its really funny. the tune is like a funfair tune. LOL,

Before going back to class, I got held up cuz i was wearing "Kung Fu" shoes.  -.-  I dont get why we cant wear them. -.-  I been wearing it of the last 1 month nobody said anything also. -.-

Anyway, after that we had to get INJECTIONS  :O.   Raj pengsan.  hahaha. but no fair after that he got FREE Milo.  -.-  I didn't get btw.

HELLO !!!!!!

Hey guys, I just came bck from Korea.  I went on the 31st of Jan and came back on the 4th of Feb.
My fight was around 11-ish.

I reach Korea the next morning around 7-ish.  Was very tried then.  The temp. there was -16 in the 1st day. It was freezing.  After taking the bags, we didn't go to the hotel but we went straight for sight-seeing.

The Sun was not even up yet.

After that, we went to Nami Island. It was a nice place but really cold. there it was -18.  Nami Island is a popular place there cuz that's where they film the best korean movie in Asia.  "Winter Sonata". hv u guys seen it ??  Ihaven't but that say its nice.  The scenery there is beautiful.  There were many kinds of trees but it was winter so there no leaves. They said in spring its really nice. hmmm..

I found few animals there like Rabbits, Ayams, Tupais, and 1 Cat.  =D.  After that we went SHOPPING !!!!!

So, we went to a street called Chuncheon Myeongding.  Its really big and there was alot of ppl. We send most of our times in a shop where they sells Hot Coco and Coffee.

After that, Lunch.  Later on we went to rent Ski Suits.  I choose PURPLE !!!!.

We spend the night at the Alpensia Intercontinental Ski Resort in Kwang Won-Do.

The next day was SKI TIME !!!!.  We had to put on these huge ski boots. I felt like Iron-Man. 0.o

At the ski resort was not that cold even tho it was in a mountain area..... it was -4, -5. It was not that bad.  Anyway, ski-ing was fun. I fell once.  =D

He was fine.....

Then, we were droven back to seoul. The trip was about 2 hours. So Tido ah.....  We had lunch at a fish shop. We had to seat on the floor. But it was warm anyway.

After lunch, we went to this shopping complex called "Dotta". That place was full of branded stuff. but cheaper then here la....

I bough Jess and Farid's T-shrit here.

After Dinner, we went to the Grand Ambassador Hotel in seoul. The place was big, but there was thing much to do there.....

I forgot to take picture of the room.

The next day we went to the Gyeongbokgung Palace.  There is wasn't cold. the temp. there was between 4 to 6 no ( - )

So, its a palace...meaning theres history. I'm not gonna tell, cuz idk.  Hahahaha.

After that SHOPPING TIME !!!!  we went to the Dongdaemun Market.

The next day we went to see a show. Is was good. the name of the show was The Sachoom Show.

We took a few photos with the Dancers.

After the show we went for lunch and prayed at the one and only masjid in seoul.  Later we went to a place where they sells Amethyst Jewelry and Lotte World Indoor & Outdoor Theme Park.

It was a fun place but we didn't go on many rides cuz it take 30 min to line up and the ride is only 5 mins. So to me its not worth it.

This was the last day in Korea.

so, our group was great. there were 26 altogether. including us.
